Monjia Belizaire’s upbringing and culture instilled in her a profound commitment to sustainable community development. With 20 years of experience as an architectural engineer, community developer, and speaker, she brings deep expertise in real estate development, construction management, and finance. She has provided strategic planning, financial consulting, and technical assistance on projects ranging from small retail to complex mixed-use facilities with costs up to $400M, collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, including non-profit and government partners.

A graduate of Penn State University and George Mason University, she is a registered Professional Engineer and holds certifications including LEED AP BD+C and Green Globes Professional.

Beyond her technical expertise, Monjia is a passionate adventurer and artist who believes in the healing power of art. She brings a global perspective to her work, having travelled and studied international sustainable development practices in locations like Haiti, Ghana, Japan, and India. This first-hand experience has shaped her unique, holistic approach to creating economically sound, environmentally sensitive, and socially responsible communities.

As the author of “In Pursuit of Sustainability: Building Science and Community Development” and various articles, and a recognized speaker, her dedication and expertise are widely acknowledged, including a Governor’s Citation for promoting building science and sustainable development principles.
